Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of project directors and project managers of IDEMA, the intern shall perform
the following tasks:
Research, Analytical Work, Report and Data Management:

  • Researching and identifying the local and international project in social development in
  • Compiling information and conducting case studies on existing material and projects
  • Conducting desktop research, organizing focus groups and conducting surveys to identify
    potential partnerships and developing strategy for private sector engagement in social
  • Preparing presentations and documentation to support IDEMA’s engagement strategy with
    business networks at the national, regional and global levels
  • Managing files and online database of related documents in a structured way
  • Producing reports on research and meetings

Knowledge Management and Communication

  • Preparing relevant communications materials (speeches, brochures, success stories, social
    media materials etc.);
  • Drafting, reviewing and editing concepts notes, knowledge products and presentations;
  • Drafting, reviewing and editing web content;
  • Participating in meetings and performing other support tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience
Interns are selected on a competitive basis. The following minimum qualifications are required:

  • Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
    a. Be enrolled in the final year of a second university degree programme (Master Degree),
    b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor
    Degree); preferably in the field such as business, law, development, public administration,
    management, engineering or similar.


  • Previous related work experience would be an asset but is not required
  • Knowledge of social development, sustainable development, both at local and international
  • Familiarity with local and international development institutions, organizations and related
    works in social development
  • Sound knowledge of project management

Language skills:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Turkish
  • Knowledge of other languages, particularly Arabic, would be an asset, but is not required.
